Deborah is married with two children, and all her children go to school. She doesn’t take care of additional family members. She has a beauty salon and has been in this business for 6 years. She has applied for a loan of 1,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more boxes of cream relaxers, weaves, braids and Vaseline. She works on all types of hair seven days a week. Her major business challenges include thieves and the ever increasing prices of cosmetics in Uganda. She aspires to own a fully stocked beauty salon and also to build her own house. She resides in a rented house, and the family has access to electricity and no piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and rent.
