A loan of $750 helped a member to buy fertilizer and plots of farmland.

Leang's Group's story

Leang, 51, is a resident living in a rural area of Kampong Cham province’s Dambae district, Cambodia. She is married and has seven children, two (sons) of whom are school-aged children and still dependent on her. She earns a living for her family by planting cassava and farming rice, businesses in which she has been involved for 31 years.

Leang has been with VisionFund for two loan cycles, with which she succeeded in covering the cost of plowing her rice field and cassava field. Now she is leading her group member, Chhreb, who has been with VisionFund for one loan cycle, to request a loan in the amount of 3,000,000KHR in total. Leang will be utilizing her requested loan portion (2,000,000KHR) to buy fertilizer and plots of farmland. She hopes that, after receiving the loan and efficiently using it, her current businesses will provide her with higher crop yields so that she can boost her income and improve the living standard of her family.
