Hedy is from Labuyo, Tangub City. She is 64 years old, and is a widow with four children.
To make a living, Hedy owns and operates a retail store, selling a variety of different products. Hedy has been engaged in her business for six years and earns 8,000 PHP a month from these activities.
Hedy joined GDMPC in 2009. Hedy is requesting a loan of 13,000 PHP which she will use to purchase additional products such as canned goods, noodles, sugar and coffee to sell in her shop. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve her family's living conditions.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
