A loan of $3,950 helped a member to buy stencils and paintings.

Amanecer Group's story

“Amanecer” (Dawn) is a Communal Bank that will start its tenth cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Cascada Community Center. It is composed of eight members, guided by a directive board presided over by Silvia. The members of the Communal Bank engage in different activities such as running a glasware store, selling vegetables, running a neighborhood store, working as a street seller, selling clothes, weaving macramé and selling vegetables.

Silvia is one of the micro entrepreneurs forming this group, and she will benefit from the requested loan. Leonora says she has been a member of Pro Mujer for one year, and that she has been invited to enter by her mother who is a member of the institution. She currently engages in selling stencils and paintings. She says that she has learned this activity form her parents while helping them selling these products, and that then she has decided to start her own activity and sell this products on her own.

The loan she in now requesting will be used to increase her working capital by buying stencils and paintings in the fairs of the town of La Paz. She will then sell them in her stall. This type of activity helps her earning an income to economically provide for her family as much as she can, as she is a single mother of one child.

When asked about what she likes of Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the many benefits they offer.

In this group: Silvia Oshin, Francisca Paula, Zulma Soledad, Wilma Liliana, Marcelina , Monica , Martha , Simona
