A loan of $375 helped a member to buy piglets and pig feed.

Kimchuon's Group's story

A villager from a rural part of the Mongkul Borey district in Cambodia's Banteay Meanchey province, Kimchuon is 43 years old, married, and has five children, two of whom are dependents and still in school. She earns a living by raising pigs (she currently has five) while her husband patches tires and cleans motors. Together, they can earn about KHR 35,000 per day and save roughly KHR 20,000 each day for future needs.

This is the fifth loan for Kimchuon’s two-member VisionFund loan group, and both women have successfully repaid their past loans with VisionFund. These loans have helped Kimchuon better support her family. As the loan group leader, she wants to use her portion to buy more piglets and pig feed. She hopes to raise her pigs to be fat and healthy, so she can sell them for a good price and improve her standard of living.
