Ken's Group's story

Ken, 40, is married with seven children and residing in a rural village of the Sangke District of Battambang Province. Three of her children are dependents and still in school. To support the big family, she has been farming rice for twenty-five years while her husband works as a worker in Thailand to earn more income to better support the family. Together, they can earn about KHR 36,000 per day and can save about KHR 16,000 each day for future needs.

Ken’s group consists of two members who are both female, and they both have been with VisionFund for five cycles. Ken completely paid back the loans with VisionFund and successfully used the loans to better support her family. She and her group member are applying for a loan of KHR 1,100,000 and KHR 1,400,000, respectively. She will use her portion to buy fertilizers and rice seeds for her farmland. She hopes to produce more rice to increase her family’s income to make a better living.
