A loan of $2,000 helped a member to open a new business of secondhand clothes to resell.

Arsenal Group's story

Christina, who is in her early 30s, is married and living together with her husband with two girls, of whom one goes to school and another is still a baby. She has been running a fruits and vegetables business (genge) and also has owned a vegetable garden for three years now. It enables her to make a good monthly profit. She requested the second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to purchase a garden pump machine and seeds, and to cover household expenses. She has paid back her loan successfully. She hopes for a loan to open a new business of secondhand clothes to resell. Her dream is to one day be able to buy a farm for agriculture. She will share this loan with her loan group, "Arsenal", which totals ten members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
