A loan of $600 helped to buy clothes to sell.

Rosa Matilde's story

Rosa is 58 years old, she lives in the town of Pisco, which boasts a warm and welcoming climate. The Ballestas Islands nearby also attract flocks of tourists year in and year out. Rosa has four children. Together with her husband, she worked very hard to make sure they live with dignity. They love their children very much. Rosa learned at a very young age what it means to earn one's bread at the sweat of one's brow, since her parents were very poor and she had to work to help support the family. She emerged from the experience a very hardworking woman. Thus, little by little, and sparing no effort, she was able to save enough to start her clothing sales business five years ago. She attributes its success to her amenity towards clients and her desire to get ahead. Rosa is very grateful to Kiva lenders since, thanks to their help, she will be able to buy children's clothes to sell, such as dresses, T-shirts, tiny polo shirts, and others. This way, she will be able to offer a greater variety of products, increase her income and keep fighting to make her greatest dream come true: "I want to improve my quality of life".
