A loan of $3,925 helped a member to buy "pagnes".

Coumba's Group's story

This group was set up on 13th December 2008 and the majority of its members live together, with trading as their main activity. Coumba, who is 51 years old and standing on the right of the photo, is married and mother to five children: two boys and three girls. With her loan she can carry out her business of selling "pagnes" (pieces of colourful fabric). She buys the "pagnes" that she resells in large towns where products flow easily and with large profits. She has been carrying out this business for years. Aside from this, she fattens sheep and goats as a concurrent business. With the profits she generates, she plans to pay for her children's schooling and help her husband with the household expenses, but above all increase her savings so that she can increase her loan.

In this group: Coumba, Mareme, Fary, Yacine, Daba, Khady
