A loan of $1,475 helped to buy cows.

Souley's story

Monsieur Souley is a married man and the father of five children. He lives with his wife and children in a monogamous family in the Torakabougou neighborhood of Bougouni.

After Koranic school, he was unemployed for a long time, so after careful consideration, he decided to learn how to buy and sell cows from his uncle.

He had a small business with a friend, and then decided to start his own business doing the same work as his uncle i.e. buying and selling cows.

He now has 15 years experience, and has mastered his business where he is sought after and appreciated. He has repaid his five previous loans, and will use this sixth loan to buy 10 cows. He buys his cows in and around Bougouni, and sells his cows at the livestock market in Bougouni. His clients are mainly butchers and shopkeepers form Bamako.

With this loan, he would like to earn an monthly profit of 145.000 FCFA that he'll use to pay for his family expenses and repay his loan.
