A loan of $1,000 helped to buy various articles for her boutique.

Djénébou's story

Madame Djénébou is a 53 year old widow and the mother of nine children. She lives with her children on the land owned by her late husband, in Bougouni, in the North Heremakono district.
After the death of her husband Djénébou became interested in earning money. She tried several types of work such as selling clothing, shoes, and condiments, but without much success. Then she decided to learn about buying and selling boutique articles from her brother.
With 10 years of experience she has become an expert in this type of work. Having learned about Soro Yiriwaso through one of its agents, she decided to become involved with the credit program through Soro Yiriwaso.
She is on her fourth loan with Soro Yiriwaso and the previous three loans have been fully repaid. She was never late with a payment.
Djénébou plans to use her loan to buy five bags of sugar, eight boxes of tea, six boxes of different types of cigarettes, five boxes of soap, and one case of cookies for her boutique.
She gets her supplies in Bougouni and sometimes in Bamako (the capital of the Republic of Mali), from wholesalers.
Her clientele is mixed. With this loan, Mrs. Djénébou plans to earn a monthly profit of 75,000 FCFA.
With this loan she plans to expand her boutique.
