A loan of $425 helped to buy basic grains, canned goods, candy, baked goods, dairy products, and eggs.

Luis Alberto's story

Luis, a 28-year-old young man, initially worked for a tax-free area but he didn't like his job. Then he decided to install a grocery store, which has grown over time and currently is going very well for him. His wife teaches in an institute. They have two children in elementary school for whom Luis works so they can have an education and be able to manage on their own.

He's requesting the loan to stock his business with basic grains, canned goods, candy, baked goods, dairy products, eggs, and other things.

At first, becoming a merchant was difficult because he didn't have sufficient capital. Now, thanks to the Kiva support in his first loan through Afodenic, he'll be able to continue making progress with his business, to improve his family finances.
