A loan of $850 helped to buy clothing, plates, glasses, containers, and other plastic products.

Kris Karoline's story

The members of the "Mujeres En Acción" communal bank meet every two weeks in the city of Puertoviejo, capital of Manabi province, a place known for many years as the "City of the Royal Tamarinds."

Kriz is 20 years old, single, and lives in her parents' home. She's been in the communal bank for a year, and likes it because of the help that the loans are providing her.

She is a very hard-working woman who likes to fend for herself so that she can earn a living. She has a stall in the local market, where she sells clothing and plastic products such as glasses, containers, plates, and several other products. She works every day from 7 AM to 6 PM, when her business closes.

Her father had this stall for more than 12 years, but for reasons related to his health, she is the one who now is responsible for the business. With it, she is able to help her family get ahead in life.

This loan is to buy clothing, plates, glasses, containers, and other plastic products. She has been in the communal bank for a year, and likes it because the loans help her to finance her business.

Her dream is to pursue a university degree.
