Victoria's story

Victoria, 51, lives with José. They have seven children, but only live with two youngest, of 21 and 15 years of age. They all live in their own house built with rustic materials in an agricultural area. Victoria has been a farmer since she was 18 years old. She sows potatoes, peas, broad beans and other. With José at her side, she’s able to get good results. “My wife works in the field most of the time because I have to take care of the house”, he mentions. Thanks to the animals she owns (cows, bulls and horses), she can speed up the work. The horses serve to transport heavy potato sacks and the bulls she rents out at 25 soles per day as yokes. That way, she generates income from various sources. Victoria gets ahead and maintains her household by working in the fields. She enjoys her work. Now she’s thinking of acquiring more animals so she can improve the work in the fields, but to do this she needs your support. This is her 7th loan from MFP. She promises to be punctual with her monthly payments. She’s part of the Communal Bank “Dos de Mayo” and she enjoys teamwork. With the loan, she’ll buy a bull to raise and employ it in agricultural activities. She calculates that this will cost her 1500 to 1700 soles.
