A loan of $600 helped to buy two bags of pea seed and several bags of farmyard manure.

Daysi's story

Daysi is 30 years old, a widow, and has two children: 15-year-old Angie and 5-year-old Cristopher. They live in their own home that her deceased husband built in an agricultural annex. Daysi is a strong woman; it has been a year since her husband was in an accident and lost his life. Despite this, she took the reins of her family and continues working. She makes a living through agriculture. She likes to grow peas, potatoes, corn, and gladiolus flowers because when she sells them she makes a good income. "It is suitable for me to grow peas because the price is better in these months," she says proudly.

In addition to tending to her crops, she is in charge of taking care of her home and her children, which is why she distributes her time well. When the harvest days come she needs to hire more personnel. This is how she optimizes her work. She relies on a small grocery store located in her house and wishes to improve it. For now she continues her work of planting peas. This is her 10th loan with MFP. She is very happy with the work in her communal bank, "Virgen de Fátima", because it allows her to learn enough and to share her experiences in questions of saving and investment with the other members.

She will use the money to buy two bags of pea seed and several bags of farmyard manure.
