A loan of $800 helped to pay for one day old chicks and feed.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is married and blessed with nine children, two of whom are below the age of 15. This lovely family lives in a four-room house at Mankon, Bamenda, in the Northwest Region of Cameron.

She has faced many difficulties in her life such as insufficient capital farm inputs, illiteracy, ill health, problems with neighbors and many more. However, there was light at the end of the tunnel when she joined GHAPE. She will be using this loan to buy more crates, day old chicks, feed trays, medical needs of the chicks, drinkers and poultry farm preparation.

The activity will help the community to increase their protein intake through available and affordable chicken, and also manure for farmers around. She will succeed because of her longevity in poultry farming and the high demand for her products, especially as festivity periods are approaching.

Her profits will be used to improve the standard of living of her family, especially education, nutrition and healthcare. She prefers a loan from GHAPE because of the gradual installment payments and the training on finance management given by GHAPE staff.
