Thoria's Group's story

These are the six members of the TAYOUR ALJANA group. All of them live in a working-class neighborhood of the city of Sana`a. The whole group took out a loan of 280,000 YER. Thoria is the leader of a group. She is 41 years old. Thoria is the woman carrying the handbag in the photo. She is a tailor who has been sewing fabrics, veils, scarf and various clothes for many years. She has five children and lives in Sana`a, Yemen. Thoria`s most important challenges are to work hard to gain extra income and to better her business structure. She is receiving a loan of 50,000 YER from AMB to buy a sewing machine for her business. Because her loan repayments have all been made punctually, she has been able to grow her business with the reinvestment she makes from each loan. In the future, she would like to save her profit to open a sewing factory.
