A loan of $350 helped to buy more stock for her booth.

Kumba's story

Kumba, 43, is married and lives in West Point, Liberia. She has four children between the ages of seven and 28. Three of the children attend school while the oldest child works.

For the past four years Kumba has had a booth in her community where she sells soft drinks, beer, stout and gin. Less business during the rainy season is a problem. Nevertheless, she is proud of her enterprise because with her profits she not only restocks her booth but helps support her family as well.

Kumba is applying for a 25,000 LRD loan from BRAC to buy more stock for her booth. Her plan is to pay for a higher level of education for her children.
