Rosa, 37 years old, was a beneficiary of a housing development and thanks to that she owns her home. She has had a job as a worker in the free trade zone for three years and has gradually been able to make improvements on her house where she lives with her daughter, who is already self-supporting.

Currently, Rosa is requesting a loan from Afodenic because she wants to build a wall in front of her home. She will purchase 200 blocks, 10 bags of cement, sand, iron and iron buttresses. All of this is to improve living conditions for herself and her daughter since only through a loan would she be able to make this addition because the economy is so bad she cannot rely on her own funds. In the future, she wants to have a business and be self-employed.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
