A loan of $525 helped to buy insecticide, urea, and fertilizer.

Jose Manuel's story

Don José is 39 years old, and lives in the Ticauntepe municipality very close to the capital. He is from a farming family, work that he inherited from his father. Now he makes a living through cultivating the land and growing pineapples, but he also works in a hospital in Managua. His wife makes a living selling fruit. They bore three children, all of whom are in school and help with the farm work.

He asks for the loan in order to provide preventive management to his apple crop by buying insecticide, urea, and fertilizer because his main problem is the pests on his crops. This way José can get his family ahead in life with two jobs in order to manage the expenses and provide what is needed to his children and family.
