A loan of $1,500 helped to buy 8 sacks of manure, herbicide, grass and to pay labor costs.

José Antonio's story

José, 51, is married and has five children. He has worked growing basic grains since he was 10-years-old; his father taught him this activity. To acquire his supplies he drives an ox-pulled cart four kilometers to the place where he buys what he needs for his crops.

The loan is to buy 8 sacks of manure, herbicide and to pay labor costs; any funds left over will be used to plant grass for the cattle, to buy grass and to pay labor costs. With this investment he’ll have everything he needs to do his work and earn sufficient income to grow larger quantities of corn and sorghum with the goal of buying a vehicle for work.
