Nabutoke, the main borrower, is president of the Amani Kwetu credit group. She is a dynamic women who applies her leadership to the discipline, harmony, and smooth functioning of her group. The borrower is an unmarried woman and mother of two children. She is 44 years old and has been a soft drink and beverage vendor for 22 years.

In 2008, she contacted and joined the Hekima [Kiva field partner] microfinance program. This is her 9th credit cycle. This new loan will allow her to stock up on a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including 5 cases of Primus, 3 cases of Mitsing, 2 cases of Fanta, 2 cases of Guinness, and 2 cases of Amstel. The borrowed thanks Hekima and aspires to educate her two children properly, prepare for their future, and open a bistro.
