Asia's Group's story

Asia is a 34-year-old married woman. She lives in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, with her husband, two sons and a daughter. Her sons are 4 and 5 years of age while the daughter's age is 10 years. All of her children are enrolled in school. Her husband is the employ of a private firm., but his income is not sufficient to meet the household expenses.

Asia is a very hardworking and independent woman. By stitching clothes, she helps her husband meet the family's needs and her children's education expenses. She has been operating her business very efficiently and honestly for the past five years, and her clients always appreciate her work.

As a member of a seven-person lending group, Asia has requested a loan from Kiva partner BRAC Pakistan. With the loan amount, she will be purchasing a new sewing machine so that she can work more efficiently in the future. And with the profit she is planning to open a new vocational center, where she can give training to women. She will also buy more stitching machines and material for her tailoring business. She is very much thankful to BRAC and says that BRAC is working very well in the field of microfinance and the staff is very cooperative.
