A loan helped to purchase 20 bags of organic fertilizers.

Rodelia's story

Rodelia is 48 years old, she lives together with her husband, and they have eight children ranging between the ages of 8 and 28. She and her husband live with five of their children in a home that they built in a rural district. Rodelia is a kind woman who is not afraid of hard work. Since the age of 17 she has worked as a farmer along with her husband. The area where they live has good land for the cultivation of potatoes and peas. "Now that the rains have come, the harvests will be better, but the work will be complicated by the cold weather," she notes.
She puts great care and dedication into her work, even to the point of confessing that her favorite pastime is clearing the weeds from between the crops. She grows a variety of potatoes, adding that this is at the root of her good sales.
All of her crops are transported to the city of Tarma (an hour and a half away) where she has many regular customers. Her main difficulty has been a lack of working capital, but thanks to the work of MFP she has overcome this.
This month marks the beginning of the potato planting season. As she already has the seeds, she is requesting your support in acquiring fertilizers. This is her seventh loan through MFP, but this time she is requesting an individual loan. For this reason she is committed to making her monthly payments on time. With the money she will purchase 20 bags of organic fertilizers, such as island guano, coastal guano, and manure.
