A loan of $550 helped to buy more stock merchandise.

Erika Yazmin's story

Erika is from the city of Nuevo Laredo. She’s a single mother with three children in her care. Two of them are teenagers and she has a two-year-old daughter. Erika has a business selling groceries at home so that she can watch her children.

She’s asking for the loan to stock the store and have more variety of products on sale because it’s the only store in her neighborhood and customers are asking for a wider variety of merchandise but she does not have enough room to display it so her customers can see what she has for sale.

She will use part of her profits from the store to repay the loan and the rest for family expenses and for her children’s schooling. She also gets child support from her ex-husband.
