A loan of $2,425 helped a member to buy ink, mugs, t-shirts, paper and bags; and to pay for equipment maintenance.

Sonrisa Group's story

Sonrisa (Smile) is a group comprised of eight members: Nisha, who sells food, Estela sells food, Lorena sells clothing, Jesika sells soft drinks, Minerva has a printing business, Grissel sells groceries, Heladio sells tacos and Guadalupe sells shoes. They decided to give their group this name because they are very cheerful and smiling. The group is located in the community of Acatlan de Perez Figueroa, which is in the cane region. Minerva only has a middle school education and is married to Jaime. They have a son, and for over 15 years have been running a printing business in the center of town where they print signage on t-shirts, mugs, bags, canvas, uniforms, flyers and invitations. She says that over the years they have acquired good customers thanks to their good work. So their customers always return and even recommend their services. She is happy because hers is a family business and in the future she hopes her son will also learn the trade. A loan from VisionFund will give Minerva the opportunity to buy inks, mugs, t-shirts, paper and bags; and to pay for equipment maintenance, since it is always in use. Minerva wants to continue prospering in her business in order to give her son a better quality of life. The Sonrisa Group is grateful for the support received by way of these loans.
