A loan of $1,175 helped to buy 4 bags of pea seeds and organic fertilizer.

Pedro's story

Pedro, 49, lives in Ceferina with his common-law wife, the mother of his children. A 24-year-old son, Alcides, is the only one living at home. They live in their own house which they built through their hard work on farm land. Pedro is a responsible, hard-working man who has enjoyed working on the farm since he was a young man. "I grow potatoes, maize, peas, beans, gladiolous flowers and other crops; everything grows here", he says proudly. In the 25 years he has been working he has obtained much satisfaction, along with frustration, but says all the experience helps him develop as an entrepreneur.

He claims that his crop business is profitable and only depends on harvest coinciding with specific months when prices are higher.

He now has his own land, which he has paid for little by little, since before he was renting. His future plans are to grow peas and maize, so he is requesting your help. This is his 13th loan through MPF. He is committed to paying it back on time as with his previous loans. He belongs to the communal bank "Santa Cruz de Patay" and is a punctual, active member of the group.

He will use 3,000 PEN to buy 4 bags of pea seeds (2,000 PEN) and the remaining 1,000 PEN to buy organic fertilizer.
