A loan of $1,650 helped a member to stock her store.

Jazmín Group's story

The Jazmín group is made up of five members, one gentleman and four ladies, who live on a small mountain where it takes 30 minutes to reach their homes. It’s a fresh place where coffee and bananas are raised.

Herminia was the one interviewed. She lives with Elogi and they have three adult children; all are married now. She did not go to school because her family lacked resources, but she wishes that she could have gone.

She requested this loan to invest in merchandise such as sugar, beans, cooking oil, soap, and other things to stock her grocery store. She has had it for six years and things are going well for her. She changed her business and the previous one was buying and selling jewelry.

What she would really like it to be able to continue working her small business and eventually grow it.

The other members of the group are Juanita who will invest the money from this loan in livestock; Consuelito who will also buy livestock; Ermestina who will buy chickens; and Jorge who will buy pigs to fatten up.

In this group: Juana, Consuelito, Herminia , Ernestina , Jorge
