Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Agostiny Jesus's story

Agostiny is 34 years old and lives in the city of Nazca, a city that is characterized by a very warm weather. Also, agriculture is developed there, especially the cultivation of prickly pear, cotton and beans, among others.

When Agostiny has free time, he loves to walk and to play soccer. Also, he loves to eat one of his favorite dishes which is the delicious Pachamanca. With effort, he studied the career of Tourism, especially because his parents supported him despite their limited economic resources.

Every day, Agostiny works as a tour guide. He works about ten hours a day and can serve up to three customers a day since the tours to tourist sites take a long time. He thinks he is doing well in his job because he is kind to customers and also very charismatic.

Agostiny is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help given, he will buy sand boarding boards in order to provide this service to tourists and thus have an extra income. This will allow him to keep fighting to realize his biggest dream: "To have a large travel agency and to support his parents".
