A loan of $5,525 helped a member to buy more sacks of charcoal.

Good Work Group's story

Agripina, who is in her late 30s, is single and has three children who go to school. She has been selling charcoal for six years now. She works from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and she is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be her ninth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to restock the missing items in her food store. She started selling soup, paid school fees and household expenses and bought more sacks of charcoal, and she has paid back all her loan successfully.

She hopes for a loan to buy more sacks of charcoal to resell to more customers.

Her dream is to one day be able to finish building her family house.

She will share this loan with her loan group, "Good Work," which totals 15 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Agripina, Anna, Amina, Juma, Halima, Jane, Sophia, Upendo, Salma, Elizabeth, Anjela, Vestina, Halima, Simoni, Genselina
