A loan of $1,125 helped to buy merchandise, such as shoes and clothing, in bulk.

Zahare's story

Zahare is 21 years old and studies at the university. For a long time her mother had various stores in the commercial center of the city, but she decided to close them so that she could become a psychologist. She hoped that her daughter would take over the business and continue serving her clients, and in fact, Zahare decided to continue the business. She sells merchandise, specifically shoes, clothing, and accessories such as watches and jewelry. Everything is imported from the United States and is brought by her friend that frequently travels internationally. Her customers are friends and colleagues from the university. Because of this, Zahare often brings her merchandise to the university to sell it there, taking advantage of all of her social networks.

Now Zahare is seeking a loan from Kiva, her first loan from La Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With the loan she will purchase merchandise in bulk, such as shoes and clothing. In the high seasons, such as the second half of the year, the demand of her customers increases greatly and she wants to be able to buy greater quantities of merchandise and take advantage of her friend's travels. Zahare hopes that her income from her business will be able to help her continue studying and that she will be able to graduate from the university so that she will have a future filled with success.
