A loan of $225 helped to purchase another buffalo.

Shahmim's story

Shahmim is 38 years old and the mother of four children. She is in her first loan cycle with the Kashf Foundation. For many years, Shahmim has been running a milk-selling business. She initiated her own business by buying a buffalo to support her family when her husband was the only bread earner at that point in time. With the passage of time, her sales increased as did her income. Now Shahmim has two buffaloes. This has all happened due to her courage and determination. Because of her work, Shahmim is respected in her home. She helps her husband in all family matters as well as financial matters. While talking to the Kashf officer, Shahmim shared the feeling of achievement she got by sending her son to college for further studies. She has some savings and has applied for a loan of PKR 20,000 to purchase another buffalo. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business. She is very thankful to Kashf for its support.
