A loan helped a member to pay for phone credit.

Eternel 1 Group's story

Ajarn, age 35, is single with 2 children, ages 4 and 11 years old. Both of his children are currently attending school. Ajarn is representing the Eternel 1 group. He primarily sells phone credit by Congolese cell phone companies. He also sells other small electronics. He has been operating this business for 5 years. The common cell phone in the Congo does not run on a plan or contract. People must buy phone cards with "credit" that gives the phone minutes of call time. Ajarn plans to use the loan to buy more cards with phone credit on them from the Congolese cell phone companies. His business strategy is to offer friendly customer service and have a large stock of different priced cards at all times.
This is Ajarn's first loan from HOPE Congo, Kiva's partner. His group and HOPE are confident that they will repay the loan. Ajarn wants to continue to operate his business in the future. He hopes his family will prosper and be happy.
