Mutindi's story

Mutindi is a resident of Malindi of Coast province, Kenya. She is a mother of four grown-up children; only one attends school. Mutindi runs a food cafe, a business that she has been in operating for 10 years. She sells rice, beans, potatoes, etc. Besides this, she also owns a dressmaking shop. She learned about Milango through an employee with an aim of accessing credit to improve the operations of her business. Her main challenge is some customers not paying on time and a seasonal business climate. Mutindi is applying for a loan of 36,650 Kenya shillings to purchase some flour, sugar, cereals, cooking oil and other equipment for the cafe. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to improve her living standards. She aspires to open a big restaurant in the future.
