Furaha's story

Furaha is a resident of Mariakani area of Coast province, Kenya. She is married and has two children attending school. Furaha owns a charcoal business which has been in operation for the past two years.

Furaha learned about Milango through a friend and joined the organization with the aim of accessing credit to improve the operations of her business. Her main challenge is the cost of transportation.

Furaha is applying for a loan of 41,850 Kenya shillings (KES) to purchase additional stock of charcoal and to repair the store. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to improve the living standards of her family. She aspires to be a wholesaler of charcoal.
