Mary is a 39-year-old married woman with four children, two of whom are attending school. For the past year, she has been operating her own business, selling cereals from her home. Previously, Mary was selling charcoal. Her aim is to open a retail shop to sell a variety of household items including the cereals she is currently selling. Mary is a dedicated woman who loves her job and one who has the vision of progressing in life. She has requested a loan to increase her inventory so as to meet the demand of her customers. With this loan, she plans to buy sacks of dried maize for sale.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
