A loan of $3,150 helped a member to pay for eggs and other ingredients for her bakery.

Kidzunu 2 (#3) Group's story

Marceline, age 56, is a single mother of 4 children, ages 18 to 35 years old. She also cares and provides for her 2 grandsons and niece. Marceline is representing the Kidzunu 2 (#3) group. She owns a small bakery where she makes cakes and other sweets to sell. She has been doing this for 19 years! She is known in the community for her tasty cakes. She will use the loan to buy eggs and other ingredients for cake baking. Her strategy is to buy her ingredients in bulk; that way, she receives a cheaper price.
Marceline has received 2 previous loans from HOPE Congo, Kiva's partner. She has a good repayment record. She would eventually like to start a chicken farm and sell eggs. She hopes her family will own and operate a farm one day.
