Janyce is a 40-year-old farmer in the Nkubu area in Kenya where she lives with her one child, who is still attending school.
She has been in farming for the past 15 years, producing cereals that she sells at the local market in her area. She is also employed as an additional source of income.
Janyce is requesting 60,000 KES to purchase materials for a zero grazing area and animal feeds for her animals for better production. This will help her manage to pay school fees for her child and boost her living standards.
Poor markets and lack of capital and inputs are some of the challenges she is facing in production.
She says that she likes the way Juhudi Kilimo is fast in processing loans.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
