A loan of $225 helped to buy supplies and to pay for labor to harvest corn and beans.

Victor's story

Víctor, 41, is a humble farmer from the community known as Los Encuentros on the outskirts of Teustepe. He has minimal education and only finished primary school. Like the majority of people in this rural area, since he was very young, he has worked in farming and raising animals. He began working at the age of eight. He says his father emphasized the importance of taking care of the crops because they are the source of economic subsistence and the family's food. He has six children between the ages of 15 and 3. The older boys help with the farming after school. Most of what he produces he sells in the same community to buyers who come in search of his products.

He is seeking a loan to buy supplies and to pay for laborers to harvest the corn and beans. In addition to investing in his crops, he wants to have the possibility to buy cattle so that he can diversify his income and thereby give his children a better future.
