A loan of $1,175 helped to buy groceries (noodles, mixed veg, rice, etc.) and animals to sell.

Jose Victor's story

José is 31 years old, single, and has one son. He lives in the small village of Puplan, in Túcume. This is a tourist area which receives a lot of visitors because of its [pre-Hispanic] pyramids. It is 45 minutes from Chiclayo, the capital of Lambayeque department.

José has been selling groceries and selling animals for five years. His business is located in his home. His main customers are his neighbors and traders who come to the area. He also owns a 'moto carguera' (a motorcycle equipped for carrying cargo) which makes him additional income.

José would like to expand his grocery store business, buying more products to sell. He would also like to buy more animals to fatten and sell. For this reason, he has requested a loan for 3,000 soles from Edpyme Alternativa.
