A loan of $1,550 helped to pay expenses for farm and video game rental businesses.

Jessica's story

Jessica, 30, is tenacious, hard-working woman. She and her husband have 2 much-loved children. They live with her husband's family in a house owned by her brother-in-law. Jessica works hard at many jobs to maintain a good quality of life for her family. She is a farmer and owns land where she grows cacao and cocoa leaves. She also operates a video games rental store from a space in her brother-in-law's house. She has operated the video rental business for 4 years and the farming business for 2. Her farm is a few kilometers from the house where she lives and it is hers alone because her partner works other jobs. She says that she is pleased with her progress because the businesses are profitable now. The businesses suit her, as well, because her children are still small and she can be home to care for them during most of each day. For the future, she hopes to grow the businesses. This will be Jessica's 9th MFP loan and she expects to do as well with this loan as she has with past ones. She has repaid her past loans and the other members of her community bank consider her to be highly responsible. Jessica says that she is grateful for your loans and that she will use part of the 4000-soles loan to hire farm laborers for her cacao business and the rest for her video games business.
