John Jairo
John is a very hardworking person who has had to fight hard against a lot of adversity in his life. John es una persona muy trabajadora que ha tenido que luchar fuertemente contra grandes adversidades que se le han presentado en la vida. Hace un tiempo su esposa y madre de sus 6 hijos murió en un accidente y a John le ha tocado hacer un gran esfuerzo en esta responsabilidad para poder sacar su familia adelante. La dificultad más grande es que su hija menor tenía tan solo unos pocos meses de nacida luego del fallecimiento de su madre. Para generar los ingresos de su hogar ha trabajado en diferentes negocios, y como en ninguno ha podido generar los suficientes ingresos para su hogar, actualmente está comenzando a trabajar en la venta de accesorios para celulares y autos. Buscando aumentar su surtido, John busca un préstamo para comprar mayor variedad de productos y así aumentar sus ventas.

Su sueño es poder mejorar sus ingresos, superar las grandes dificultades económicas y sociales que tiene en su familia y sacar adelante a sus 6 hijos. También tiene el anhelo de en un futuro poderse conseguir su casa propia.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
