Sal (pictured with her mother) is 30 years old. She is single and lives with her mother and a brother in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. She has been selling vegetables and fish for more than five years, earning approximately $2 per day. Her brother runs a business selling charcoal. He earns about $8 per day. In order to improve her family's finances, Sal is requesting a loan of $600 to purchase a motorbike and a trailer for her brother to use in carrying charcoal to sell. This purchase will help him expand his target market and earn more income for the family. In the future, Sal would like to expand her business and rebuild her house as soon as possible.
