A loan of $850 helped to purchase and sell new clothing like pants, shirts, skirts, shorts, dresses, and underwear.

Silvia De Los Angeles's story

Silvia de los Ángeles is 50 years old, and has five children aged 31, 29, 25, 24, and 12, of which only the 12-year-old is under her care because he is younger and still in school. She comes from the department of Chinandega, located in the western part of Nicaragua. For the last 25 years her economic activity has been the sale of new clothing in one of the local markets, where she works every day from 8 am to 6 pm. With this loan she will buy merchandise such as pants, shirts, skirts, shorts and underwear. She is very pleased by the help that Kiva lenders have provided to small businesses with limited resources in poor countries like Nicaragua, allowing them to have a dignified means of living, income, and work.
