A loan of $800 helped to buy more parts for cars like tires, glue, and lubricants.

Rihid's story

Rihid is 47 years old and lives in the town of Bugiri, Uganda. He is married and has four children, with two of them currently in school. For the past two years, Rihid has been working hard to manage his spare parts business, which sells tires, lubricants, and other car parts.

To help expand his business, Rihid has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more parts for cars like tires, glue, and lubricants, and will help Rihid to generate greater profits and improve the education level of his children. Rihid hopes that in the future he will be able to open up another outlet.

Rihid is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Rihid who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
