A loan of $1,500 helped to purchase manure and seeds.

Petrona's story

Petrona is 53 years old, and has nine children with her husband, Zenón. Four of their children are grown and independent, and two of those children are working in Spain, since their lack of resources and work at home drove them to seek employment overseas. Five of their children are still in school, and live with Petrona and her husband in the community of Sauce Rancho, which is located in the city of Cochabamba and is known for its farming and agricultural production. The region produces onion, potato, chard, parsley, and other vegetables. Petrona, with help from her husband, works very hard to make a living as a farmer and provide for her children.

With the support from this loan, Petrona plans to purchase seeds and manure for planting her crops. She hopes that this investment will help her to increase her production levels and generate additional income. Her dream is to support all of her children in their pursuit of a professional career, in the hope that they will improve their quality of life. She also hopes that one day her two children living abroad will return home to be with their family.
