Good afternoon! This is Ines, the treasurer of the 'Las Positivas' community bank. This group has 10 responsible members who are all committed to working within the Prosperity Program. They are currently on their 8th loan cycle.

Ines works selling children's and adults' clothing. Most of her customers are neighbors and family members.

Ines is very happy to be receiving her loan and she would like to use it to buy clothing such as tops, pants and jackets. This will give her a wider range of clothing to offer her customers.

Ines is married and the mother of three children. With a lot of hard work and effort, she has managed to improve her family's quality of life. Her biggest wish is to set up a small clothing store in which she can sell her merchandise.

Ines is the lady on the far left who is wearing a red jacket and blue pants. Ines is grateful to Kiva lenders for their help!

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
