A loan of $525 helped to buy rice, sugar, oil and beans at wholesale.

Luisa Emilia's story

Luisa, 54, is a merchant; she sells food, an activity she’s done since she was very young. When she used to sell from place to place she’d go to shopping centers, squares and neighborhoods to sell blended fruit drinks and enchiladas. Today she has an eatery where people can treat themselves to delicious home-made chicken with rice, blended natural fruit beverages as well as traditional beverages. Her granddaughters and daughters help her with this activity. Thanks to her great effort and hard work she’s managed to secure regular customers that buy from her every day.

She’s asking for a loan to buy rice, sugar, oil and beans at wholesale because they are part of the raw materials she uses every day to prepare the food she sells. She will be able to get better prices this way and be able to keep her prices affordable for her customers. She hopes to continue growing and expanding the business and will make improvements to the infrastructure of her house.
