Luz's story

Luz is 66 years old. She is an enterprising, cheerful and vert kind woman. She likes challenges. She lives with Abdias, who is unemployed. From this relationtionship they had 3 children who are already grown. Together they live comfortably in their own home with their 19 year old grandson. Luz' business is selling food. To do this, she has a small spot infront of a health center where she sells various regional dishes and fixed menus to her distiguished clientele. She gets up very early to purchase her ingredients to prepare that day, paying a comfortable price that allows her to have a larger profit margin. She has been doing this business for 8 years, serving customers with the support of her spouse. She considers her business to be very profitable becuase of the regular customers she has and because she has been able to get ahead with her good cooking. She likes her business because it has brought her a lot of personal and financial satisfaction. She has seen it grow, starting by selling juice and then selling food on a mobile table. Now she has a locale and she knows how to earn good customers. This brings her good earnings and she plans to just maintain the business, because of her age. This will be loan number 4 with the MFP institution. She has the small loan so that she can meet her objectives. She says that she feels good in her communal bank because she has permanent support. With the amount of 800 nuevos soles that she has asked for, she will invest in buying snacks to improve the variety of the products she offers her customers, as well as ingredients to prepare her foods, seeking more comfortable prices for her bulk purchases.
