A loan of $700 helped to purchase clothing and sandals.

Blanca's story

Blanca is 31 years old, and is a very hardworking, earnest, polite and kind woman who has an eight-year-old daughter. Blanca lives with her parents, daughter and her four brothers, since she is separated from her husband. Blanca makes a living running a clothing sales business, and sells clothing and sandals for men, women and children. Every month, she makes a trip to the capital city to buy her merchandise and get the best deals and most stylish items. Every once in a while, her aunt will do the shopping for her, since she lives in the capital. Blanca sells her products to friends and contacts in her area, and she also sells beauty and cosmetic products from catalogs. She has been operating her business for three years now.

Blanca enjoys running her business, as it is going well and allows her to generate income to pay for her daughter's education, as well as household expenses.

In the past, Blanca has faced financial challenges, since she is separated from her husband, and he does not pay child support. As she has begun working and running her business, she has gained economic independence and satisfaction. She hopes to grow and strengthen her business, and to eventually open a boutique out of her parents' home. This is her fifth loan with MFP, and she is grateful for the support she has received. She is glad to be a member of the community bank, as she feels it is a unified, supportive group. With the support from this loan, Blanca plans to invest in purchasing clothing and sandals in various styles, sizes and models, so that she can offer a wider variety to her customers.
